Hill Walking

The below courses are a great way to get into the mountains if you are a beginner to the big mountains of Britain. You can learn new skills to become self reliant or just be guided in the mountains so you can relax and enjoy the views.

If you don’t see exactly what you want below then please get in touch. Course content is flexible so if you would like 5 days with a mixture of navigation, environmental knowledge and camping that is no problem. The length of courses is flexible and normally dependant on your ambitions and experience.

Hill Skills

Outline - Having good mountain skills is the foundation to all mountain activities. You will focus on all the core skills that are needed for safe walking in the mountains and build them up in practical situations.

Content – Over the course you will develop the following skills: Navigation, Route Choice, Equipment, Environmental Knowledge, Weather issues, Hazard Identification and Management.

Camping Skills

Outline – Being able to spend a few nights under canvas in the mountains opens up a host of new areas to explore in Britain, especially in Scotland. You will focus on all the core skills that are needed and build them up in practical situations.

Content – Over the course you will develop the following skills: Navigation, Camping Equipment and its use, Campsite Selection, Weather issues, Hazard Identification and Management
