Advanced Scrambling

Advanced scrambling instruction on the Cairngorms

I was joined today by Stuart and Matt who had done a fair bit of grade 1 scrambling and indoor climbing and wanted to progress to do some grade 2 and 3 scrambles. It was a slightly damp and cloudy day but this did not put us off and we headed into the northern corries and the twin rib area. Here we looked at gear placement and belay constuction and put this into practice on short pitches. We then looked at going down, discussing how to protect each other down climbing and then making 2 abseils off the ribs. After a looking at a little more gear placement we headed back to the dry of the cafe!

A great day if a little damp!
